Job Summary:

The Director of Academics at Innivec will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives. This leadership position will focus on ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence, instructional quality, and student success across all educational programs. The Director will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to drive innovation, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and align academic strategies with the organization’s mission and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive academic strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
  2. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to faculty and staff in curriculum development, instructional design, and program delivery.
  3. Foster a culture of excellence in teaching and learning by promoting innovative instructional practices, educational technologies, and student-centered approaches.
  4. Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance mechanisms to ensure academic integrity and compliance with relevant accreditation standards.
  5. Collaborate with faculty and staff to assess, monitor, and improve student learning outcomes, program effectiveness, and educational impact.
  6. Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance evaluation processes to ensure a highly qualified and motivated instructional team.
  7. Collaborate with external partners, industry experts, and professional associations to enhance program relevance, industry connections, and experiential learning opportunities.
  8. Stay abreast of emerging trends, research, and best practices in higher education to inform strategic decision-making and program enhancements.
  9. Represent Innivec in academic forums, conferences, and industry events to promote the organization’s educational programs and initiatives.

  1. Academic program excellence, including student satisfaction, retention rates, and success in achieving learning outcomes.
  2. Program accreditation and compliance with relevant quality assurance standards.
  3. Faculty development and engagement, including professional growth, teaching effectiveness, and student feedback.
  4. Innovation in instructional design, educational technologies, and pedagogical approaches.
  5. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance program relevance and industry connections.
  6. Effective leadership and communication within the academic department and across the organization.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities with a clear vision for academic excellence and innovation.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  3. Deep understanding of educational pedagogies, instructional design principles, and student-centered learning approaches.
  4. Knowledge of accreditation standards, quality assurance processes, and regulatory requirements in higher education.
  5. Ability to analyze data, assess program effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  6. Familiarity with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in higher education and instructional design.
  7. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  8. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire faculty and staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Educational Leadership, or a related discipline. A Doctorate degree is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in academic leadership roles, preferably in higher education.
  3. Proven track record of driving academic excellence, program development, and continuous improvement.
  4. Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment of learning outcomes.
  5. Familiarity with accreditation processes and standards in higher education.
  6. Strong knowledge of educational technologies and their integration into teaching and learning.
  7. Experience in faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation processes.
  8. Strong understanding of industry trends and emerging practices in higher education.
