Director, Aviation Partnerships

The Director, Aviation Partnerships will lead the development and management of  strategic partnerships within the aviation industry to drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Director will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and implementing partnership opportunities with airlines, aircraft manufacturers, airports, and related stakeholders. The role requires a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of the aviation sector, strong relationship-building skills, and a track record of driving successful collaborations. 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (KRAs): 

Partnership Strategy Development: 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives and growth targets. 
  • Identify key stakeholders and potential partners within the aviation industry, including airlines, OEMs, MROs, airports, and technology providers. 
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and partnership opportunities. 

 Relationship Management and Negotiation: 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective partners, serving as the primary point of contact for partnership discussions and negotiations.
  • Lead negotiations of partnership agreements, ensuring terms are mutually beneficial and aligned with strategic objectives. 
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalize partnership contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. 

  Collaborative Initiatives and Programs: 

  • Identify and develop joint initiatives, programs, and campaigns with aviation partners to drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, and brand awareness. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement collaborative projects, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon timelines and deliverables. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of partnership initiatives, tracking key metrics and KPIs to measure impact and ROI. 

 Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership: 

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote brand visibility, thought leadership, and networking opportunities. 
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and market trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform partnership strategies. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop content and thought leadership materials showcasing the company’s expertise and innovation in aviation partnerships. 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 

  • Number of new aviation partnerships established annually. 
  • Revenue generated or cost savings achieved through aviation partnerships. 
  • Increase in market share or customer acquisition attributable to partnership initiatives.
  • Partner satisfaction scores based on feedback and relationship assessments. 
  • Timeliness and effectiveness in negotiating and executing partnership agreements. 
  • Performance of collaborative initiatives, measured by predefined metrics such as sales volume, customer engagement, or brand visibility. 
  • Contribution to overall business objectives, such as revenue growth, market expansion, or product innovation. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in partnership development, sales, or business development within the aviation industry. 
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing strategic partnerships with airlines, OEMs, airports, or related stakeholders. 
  • Deep understanding of the aviation industry, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and key players. 
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels. 
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to translate business objectives into actionable partnership strategies. 
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
