Job summary

College Multihexa is looking for a highly skilled Director Government Sales who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sales activities within the government sector. This position involves developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets in government accounts.

As the Director of Government Sales, the primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain relationships with government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels. Director Government Sales will work closely with government decision-makers and procurement officials to understand their needs, identify opportunities, and position the company’s products or services as the best solution.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for government accounts, aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Identify key government agencies and build relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Understand the government procurement process and requirements, including RFPs (Request for Proposals) and government contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure effective delivery of solutions and services to government clients.
  • Lead the government sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities in the government sector, adjusting the sales strategy as necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations with government clients.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management, highlighting opportunities and challenges within the government market.
  • Stay informed about government regulations, policies, and initiatives that may impact sales opportunities.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in government sales, with experience in selling to government agencies at various levels.
  • Strong understanding of the government procurement process, including RFPs, bidding, and contracting.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a sales team.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with government officials and executives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop sales strategies accordingly.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and leverage resources effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant government regulations and policies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with government clients and attend industry events.
