Job summary

Innivec is looking for an Instructional Designer who will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of educational and training materials. This role requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of instructional designers to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

Duties and responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of instructional designers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of multiple instructional design projects.
  • Ensure the instructional design team meets project deadlines and quality standards.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a strategic vision for the organization’s training and development programs.
  • Identify opportunities for improving training effectiveness and organizational performance.
  • Develop and manage the instructional design budget.

Design and Development:

  • Oversee the creation of instructional materials, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and other educational content.
  • Ensure instructional materials are developed using instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
  • Incorporate multimedia elements such as graphics, audio, and video into training materials.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and maintain quality standards for instructional design and development processes.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations of instructional materials to ensure they meet organizational standards and learner needs.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes based on feedback and evaluation data.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate training programs with business initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding training strategies, progress, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and eLearning development processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multimedia production, including graphics, audio, and video.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging learning technologies and trends.
  • Professional certifications in instructional design or project management (e.g., CPTD, PMP).

Salary:

  • CAD 60,000.00- CAD 65,000.00 per year
